Woman Owned Business Gift Guide

There’s a huge revenue disparity between women owned businesses and the rest of the business world, and that just isn’t right. Supporting woman-owned businesses empowers women, and shows that you believe in a future where women have the same economic opportunities as men. And I’ve selected a few amazing options for you this holiday season:

Berriez- Emma curates vintage clothing for plus-size women, and she also sources amazing handbags and accessories, all available online!

YayForEarth Stevie is an amazing environmental activist who spreads positive messages and education on the internet every.single.day! Plus, she also makes amazing products, most notably her handmade face lotion, which is natural and great for sensitive skin types.

BJones Style – Every vintage and thrift loving gal adores Beth Jones of BJones Style. One of her Always Play Dress Up tees would make a great gift for someone who lives that mentality!

Convivial Ceramics- Convivial creates beautiful ceramics in Kansas City, MO. What started off as one woman making ceramics on a wheel in her garage is now a studio of 8 female artists producing handmade tableware, pots, and decor. My favorite for houseplants are the minimal collection in the “sand” color.

Glossier- Glossier is a natural-looking beauty and skincare company founded by Emily Weiss. I have tried just about everything on their site, and vouch for: Balm Dotcom, Boy Brow, Cloud Paints, Priming Moisturizer Rich, the Moisturizing Moon Mask, Brow Flick, Lash Slick, Stretch Concealer, You Perfume, and Haloscope. If you want to throw a fun goodie bag together– pick and choose any combo of those and you can’t go wrong. Order with my affiliate link and get 10% off your order!

Simper Goods– Jen Pezzolla created Simper Goods to celebrate self care rituals. They carry everything you need for a relaxing night in, from candles to bath salts to body products. I’m currently “crushing” on the Crushed Mint & Bourbon Candle (I’m obsessed with both of these smells), which has notes of spearmint, black tea, vanilla, and bourbon. All Simper Goods candles are hand-poured in the United States.

Cat Bird: Rony Vardi is the founder and owner of the Brooklyn-based jewelry store, Catbird, which is best known for its delicate, minimal jewelry. They carry all things trend-driven: midi rings, personalized signet rings, simple gold chains, and climber earrings, and also the classics like charms, hoops, and engagement rings. Prices range from affordable to aspirational, and there is a gifts section for more ideas!

Bijou Candles – NYC-based couple, Alaina & Jocelyn started Bijou Candles because they were two candle hoarders who wanted to create luxury candles that you can afford. All Bijou Candles are 100% soy wax, and have a long burn time. They have lines inspired by witches, starlets, and other amazing cultural icons. I’m in love with the idea of the Hermione candle (of course!) which is scented with cedar, sandalwood, and pine — they say it smells like antique shopping, a campfire, and Mother Earth! LOVE!

Aarica Nichole Vintage – Aarica Nichole Vintage is a black female operated and owned business, selling amazing vintage and even cooler upcycled pieces. Aarica is best known for her Harley Davidson scrunchie tees that she crops and sews herself. Her stuff is incredible, and she definitely deserves your support this holiday season.

My Ideal Bookshelf– Jane Mount is an illustrator who makes prints, pins, and totes with books on them! You can find artwork that displays collections of Women Writers of Color, LGBTQ+ Essentials, Sci-Fi, Great American Novels… you name it, and she’s made it! OR, Jane can make a custom print with the books you select. If you don’t know the person on your lists favorite books, that’s okay, she does gift certificate options where they can create their list at a later date.

Aerende Emily Mathieson is a former travel editor who founded Aerende as an online shop. Aerende sells beautiful products and gifts for your home, all of them made in the UK by people facing social challenges. You can think of it is a special place to find a range of carefully crafted products from around the British Isles, created by makers who struggle to access or maintain conventional employment. They curate a lovely Gifts section.
